Builds Growing Tension: His Perfect Timing

Reveals Common Themes: His Compassionate Care

Highlights Unique Contrasts: His Sovereign Power

Home Church Questions

1. Give several examples of when time seems to go fast and when time seems to go slow? Do you think the time felt fast or slow for Jairus? How did Jairus learn the lesson that Jesus’ timing is often different from ours?

2. When have you had to learn to trust God’s timing? Is there an example in your life right now where you are having to trust His timing?

3. What are some similarities between the two stories? How are these similarities significant?

4. We learn God’s care is not incompatible with our pain, but our pain often leads to fear. Jesus says, “do not fear, only believe” (v.36). What does this look like for you right now?

5. What are some differences between these two stories? How are these differences significant?

6. Jesus is able to raise up Jairus’ daughter even after she dies. Jesus is able to be raised up even after he dies. He promises to raise up “everyone who believes in him” even after we die (John 6:40). If we truly believe in these resurrections, how should this impact how we live?

7. What truth did you learn about God in this week’s message?

8. How are you encouraged or challenged by this passage?

9. What is one step of obedience you will take this week?

Mission Focus

UPG FOCUS: The Lingayat in India
The Lingayat people of India number around 3.6 million and are concentrated primarily in Karnataka. They follow a distinct religious tradition centered on the worship of Shiva and have very few known followers of Christ. Pray that the Lingayat would recognize their need for a Savior and develop a deep hunger for the truth of Jesus, that God would send faithful ambassadors to them, and that any Lingayat believers would boldly share Christ with their families and communities.

If you are joining us for the first time or have been checking us out for a few weeks, we are excited you are here and would love to meet you. Please fill out the “Connect Card” and bring it to the Connection Center in the Atrium, we would love to say “hi” and give you a gift.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child collection week is almost here!  We are excited about your involvement as we work toward our goal of 8,200 boxes. The GO Store, located in downtown Conway is the perfect place for you to buy approved items to put in your box for a fraction of the cost of retail.  That means, if you plan to pack 1 box, you might be able to pack 2-3 boxes for the same amount.  Also, we need volunteers for OCC Collection Week, November 16-23. To register for a spot just right for you, go to fellowshipconway.org/occ to sign up.  Let’s do this together, Fellowship!

Fellowship Connect
Looking for a place to connect at Fellowship? Fellowship Connect is a 10-week opportunity to meet people, build meaningful relationships, and discover what it means to be part of our church family.  Start building community with others every Sunday, now - November 29, during the 9 AM Service in the Fireside Room (2nd floor).
