That Great City - Jonah 4:11

That Great City
Jonah 4:11

The Tension:
The city is valuable because of people.
& The city is corrupted because of people.

The Lesson:
We should value people more than plants.

The Tension:
The city is valuable because of security and justice.
& The city is corrupted because of violence and injustice.

The Lesson:
We should appreciate and pray for people who provide security and justice.

The Tension:
The city is valuable because of culture and productivity.
& The city has corrupted culture and productivity.

The Lesson:
We should seek the good of the city without losing our identity.

Mission Highlight - The Dongxiang people in China
The Dongxiang people of China, numbering around 775,000, descend from Mongol soldiers who settled in the region during the 13th century. Though officially Muslim, many Dongxiang are marginalized even within the broader Islamic community due to social challenges. Their language has Mongolian roots, and literacy is low, with few fluent in Chinese. Most work as farmers or in traditional rug-making. The gospel has not taken root among them, and there are no known Dongxiang believers. Pray for workers to bring the good news, for hearts to be softened, and for a church planting movement to begin among the Dongxiang.

Home Church Launches August 17th
Home Church small groups are about building a deep community where we are transformed into the image of Christ and serve a broken world for the sake of the gospel.  All of this takes place through fellowship, engaging the Word, praying together, and serving alongside one another.  If you are not in a Home Church, we encourage you to go to fellowshipconway.org/homechurch,  and fill out the form. We can then
connect you with a small group. If you would like more information, please contact Michael at
