Judges 1:1-2:5

JUDGES:  A FAITHFUL GOD IN A BROKEN WORLD
“Holy Wars:  Israel’s Failure and God’s Faithfulness”
(
Judges 1:1-2:5)

For bulletin in PDF form click here.

God is faithful and provides everything needed to
have victory over the enemy.
(Judges 1:1-18)

When God’s people compromise, their partial obedience
 leads to complete disobedience.
(Judges 1:19-36)

God’s promises for His people are realized both through
His covenant and His consequences.
(Judges 2:1-5)

God’s faithfulness to His purposes does not depend on our participation,
but He gives us the privilege to join Him in trust and obedience.

Next Steps
•
Allow your brokenness to drive you to repentance.
•  Respond to God's grace with simple obedience.

Home Church
Our Home Churches meet weekly to facilitate quicker relational depth, study the same passage taught
Sunday to help apply Scripture in the context of community, and pray with one another.  Home Church helps our body seek God’s best for one another.

Home Church Questions

• If God was so faithful, why would the Israelites turn away and not trust Him completely?

•  How have you seen God’s provision in your life?

•  Do you agree that partial obedience is really disobedience? Why or why not?

•  Israel gradually declined and lost ground to the Canaanites - why was this compromise so important?

•  How do we compromise our faith?

•  What do you allow into your life that shouldn’t be there? Does it move you towards repentance?

•  How have you seen God’s covenant or consequences play out in your life?

•  How can you support one another as a community to move toward simple obedience?
