I am writing from the wonderful mountain cottage of Chata Zvonice (Cottage of the Belfrey) near Korenov in the Czech Republic (www.zvonice.cz). Everyone was able to get a wonderful night of sleep last night and we did not leave for the train station from training until 10:30 am. Two Trains, one MacDonalds (“I need some french fries” is what I heard. Unbelievable!) and a two and a half hour bus ride and we have arrived at Camp. We are here tonight with some of the Czech Leaders getting settled in and preparing for the arrival of the campers tomorrow. We had a plan for all of the things we needed to get done when we arrived only to find that the Czech Team had almost everything prepared. This is a great partnership.
We are very excited to know that the camp this year will be full with 80 campers–they had to start turning people away two weeks ago. Even more exciting is the fact that we have 11 first time campers and at least 28 who we know are not believers. The rest of the youth leaders and the campers will arrive tomorrow shortly after lunch time. We can’t wait! It has been so great to see all of our first timers from Fellowship (Rachel, Chris, Shane, Kyler, Daniel and Brittney) jump in with both feet (Kyler Tipton was made for this).
