Fellowship loves seeing people being equipped and released to make reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ! We want to share a story of four members in our body who are doing just that in a way that God has gifted them and directed their heart. We want to shine a light on these four members in hopes of hearing your story of how God has equipped and released you to impact the world. We all have a part in God’s story to pursue, what’s yours?
One of Fellowship’s members has been granted the privilege of traveling to a nearly closed part of Asia to share the Gospel and teach the Bible to about 1,200 children, plus several hundred women across remote mountain villages. Their precious hearts are open and responsive to the Gospel, and God is faithfully sending teachers to them. We are intentionally omitting specific details in order to protect this team from being turned away upon entry. Will you be in prayer for this challenging opportunity for Fellowship to leave fingerprints in this forgotten part of the world?
Right now, a team of four including Jeff Chapman, Mark and Sharon Brandt, and Shane Chancellor will be joining Melanie Wilson (Jim Wilson, Melanie’s husband – pictured below, was on staff at Fellowship before heading to Central America) in San Jose, Costa Rica to serve in a poverty-stricken community called Guarari. The plan is to serve 300 children in this community by hosting ‘Christmas Parties’ for groups of 25 at a time. During the party, we will present the birth of Jesus through a play, give them each child a gift bag (with goodies like we do through OCC), and play lots of games. Each child will leave with material that clearly explains the Gospel. Shane Chancellor will be spending his time serving the families through doing some repairs to homes and buildings in the community.
We are excited about the opportunity the Lord has brought about through our experiences with the Wilsons and going on the Fellowship Nicaragua mission trips in the past! Please pray that many will come to know Jesus through our time. May God be glorified.
We love praying for the Fellowship Body as we pursue what God has called us to do! What opportunities has the Lord called you to either overseas or here in the community? We would love to hear about it and pray alongside of you! Email Shane and let us know.
