We believe in what God is doing in the local Czech church we partner with in teaching an evangelistic English camp. FSM will be led by the mission’s agency Josiah Venture in training and conducting a weeklong camp designed to teach local teenagers English. According to Josiah Venture (JV), “The evangelical church in the Czech Republic is tiny, making up only less than one third of one percent in a country of 10.5 million people. Most Czechs have no religious affiliation.” The need for the Gospel in the Czech Republic is great.
GO: Czech is limited to students who are at least a current sophomore in high school. Each student is required to have participated in a positive mission trip experience prior to going to the Czech Republic. Our trip encompasses a 16-day schedule that requires individual relational maturity to be present in each student in order for him or her to be prepared for the demands of international missions. Go: Czech is also a commitment to a rigorous training schedule in the months leading up to our departure. In order to ensure we have the right members for the team, each potential team member will be asked to go through the application process. All applications will be reviewed by the Czech Leadership Team and do not guarantee you a spot on the team. Final team decisions will be communicated after the sign-up deadline. Students will have first priority in claiming the limited spots available. Space permitting, adults will be offered the opportunity to join the 2017 GO: Czech Mission Trip. Deadline to apply is January 1.
If you are accepted to the 2017 GO: Czech team, there will be a meeting for parents and students on Sunday, January 15 at 12:30 PM, outlining the expectations for each team member. During this meeting, you will receive training dates, as well as a schedule of fundraiser opportunities and how you can utilize fundraisers and letter support to fund your trip. For those who are not accepted, there will be a regional mission trip opportunity for students, as well as international mission trip opportunities to Nicaragua for adults.
