The GO: Czech teams hit the ground running from the moment we arrived on Tuesday afternoon. An unexpected opportunity presented itself when we arrived, and our teams had the opportunity to tour the city of Prague. Instead of feeling the effects of jet lag, we got to experience a quick tour with a slight mist through the country’s most beautiful city.
We arrived at our team training facility at Cesky Sternberk on Tuesday night. Each year is different and from the start, we realized we were staying in a different building in the facility – at a farm house. What this meant was that we had a morning “hike” through a field, through a forest, around a castle, and over some train tracks to get to our training hotel facility. It was an adventure (as you’ll see in the pics below), but our team enjoyed every moment! We are well on our way to developing great memories.
Team training is the pre-game warmup for what God is going to do. It’s also refreshing for our team to recoup from the travel and spend time together. Thus far, we have walked through Czech history, discipleship training, English Class discussions, and ‘attempted’ to do the camp dance which is a fun part of our teams’ tradition on these trips.
It is exciting to think about the possibilities of what God has in store for each of our teams. It has been fun to laugh together, partly because of a mixture of good humor and sleep deprivation. It is also a time where we need your prayers (we are tired). We need God to provide strength and we need the Spirit to provide guidance as we prepare to share the love of Christ with Czech students at English Camp.
I’ll leave you with this lyric that Alex Velte sang during our worship time this morning:
‘Your Will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise’
Such beautiful truth from this song and it is our prayer today. We will check in again soon!
