Fellowship on the River

April 11th, 2012 by Shane

The (Headless) Shrimp is back at the 2012 Fellowship on the River May 6th at 4:00 PM at Toad Suck Park across the river (Perryville County side).  The shrimp pots will be in full force as will the grills filled with burgers and dogs.

This annual event is full of food, music, fun (for all ages) and an event that brings the whole Body of Fellowship together!  Come with your family, community group, friends, neighbors, people you pick up en route…whoever! We want you to come and experience Fellowship on the River.

Live music, (headless) shrimp, hamburgers, hot dogs, a huge playground for kids as well as a giant inflatable slide makes this a fellowship event.  YOU make it a great event!

Tickets go on sale this Sunday, April 15th in the Atrium (grab your check book & look for the table).

Hot Dogs plate: Hot Dog, bag of chips, cookies & drink $3 (free for kids ages 3 & under)

Hamburger plate: Hamburger, bag of chips, cookies & drink $6

Shrimp Plate: 1/3 lb shrimp, corn, boiled potatoes, cookies & drink $14

Make this years Fellowship on the River the can’t miss event of May!  You will not regret it.

FAQ:

Why May 6th, isn’t that Toad Suck weekend?

-Yes.  Typically we have FOTR the third Sunday in May.  However, this year Conway Public Schools is holding their graduation in Little Rock (May 13th is Mother’s Day & May 27th is Memorial day).

Why so many mentions of ‘headless’ shrimp?

-Last years feedback showed a favoring to shrimp being headless.  So this year heads are rolling.  We have ordered headless shrimp.

Do I have to have a ticket to attend FOTR?

-No.  If you want to pack a sack dinner or bring your own food and drink, come on out and enjoy the afternoon with us!  To get a plate of food at the event; however, you need to have purchased a ticket (this way we ensure we have food for everyone who bought a ticket).

What is the best way to make this an outreach event for me?

-Buy a ticket or two and give it to a co-worker, friend or neighbor.  Bring them out to enjoy the food, live entertainment & fellowship.  Use the time to share the Gospel in a friendly atmosphere!  We would love to see FOTR used as a tool for you to reach out to people around you!

33 Men’s Breakfast

March 29th, 2012 by Chris

Join us on as we journey to Authentic Biblical Manhood.

We will meet at 8:00am on the first Saturday morning of each month.

Our next meeting is Saturday, May 5 as we continue the 33 Men’s Breakfast. We will have a good hot breakfast and fellowship with other men, then dive into the 33 Series Teaching and conclude with small group discussion of what that truth means to each of us and our daily lives and prayer. You will be challenged and you will be sharpened.

33 Training Guide

Every man needs a Training Guide.

This is much more than a workbook of outlines with blanks to fill in. The Training Guide contains valuable information and supplemental resources to support each session. We will have training guides available to purchase at the 33 Men’s Breakfast for $17. Each Training Guide will last you 6 months.

Sign up and invite other men to join you!

To receive email updates about 33 Men’s Breakfast at Fellowship Conway and help us ensure we have enough books and food (especially bacon). If you are inviting other men to join us point them to this webpage to sign up as well.

The Easter Offering

March 29th, 2012 by Chris

Easter is a time where people come together to remember, focus, and celebrate the finished work of Jesus. This year we want to challenge everyone connected with Fellowship to do even more through The Easter Offering. We are taking up a special, one-time offering to support ministries through which God can use Fellowship to leave a lasting legacy for Christ. I invite you to join in The Easter Offering as we gather to worship the Risen Lord!

This is where we give above and beyond our regular giving. We’ll use 100% of the money from this offering to support the following projects to spread the Gospel all over the world.

Download the The Easter Offering Letter here.

1) Support a Pastor at the 2012 Bible Institutes in Rivas, Nicaragua

Nicaragua Pastor

Through The Easter Offering we will be supporting Nicaraguan church leaders by financially making it possible to attend 2 weeks of Biblical training this year. This spring they will study Man, Sin, and Salvation and this fall Church History. Our goal is to equip 140 Nicaraguan pastors to impact their country and beyond with a solid foundation of Gospel-centered Biblical teaching.

2) Operation Christmas Child

OCC Last year Fellowship packed and sent a record 1,590 Gospel opportunities to children all over the world making OCC our biggest evangelistic outreach as a church. Imagine what we could do in November if we sacrificially give financially now to help mobilize more people, fill, and send more Gospel opportunities than ever before.

Won’t it be cool to hang out in Heaven with a whole bunch of kiddos who came to know Christ as a part of your Easter Offering this year?!

3) Missionary Needs & Support

We want to continue to be a sending church. Glance at the support list in the bulletin this week and take a look at how many ways we get to be involved in God’s work all over this earth through our missionaries. It would be great to provide funding for new and existing missionary needs as identified by our Missions Committee and approved by the Elders throughout the year.

4) Reach kids in Conway with 450 hours of Sallie Cone service

It has been a true privilege to watch God work through our body as you have invested in the lives of the students at Sallie Cone Elementary over the last six years. Many of you have spent time there modeling Christ and showing the kids that God loves them. As Sallie Cone Elementary closes and the new Carol Lewis Elementary opens we have an opportunity to finish strong at Sallie Cone and open doors to future ministry relationships at Carol Lewis by serving in two ways.

The first is participate in the final Sallie Cone Fishing Event at Bob Courtway Fishing Pond on April 24. The second is to serve the teachers moving to the new school by helping them pack up their rooms on May 19. Would you give 2 hours of fishing with a student or 3 hours packing a room with a teacher as an offering of service this Easter? These simple acts of service will speak volumes to the students, faculty, and administration of Fellowship’s and, more importantly, God’s love for them.

On April 8 we will receive the The Easter Offering during each of our morning services.

We’re providing special envelopes the next two Sundays and encouraging everyone to come prepared to give on that day. I am confident that if everyone does their part and gives as they’ve been blessed, we will hit our God-sized goal of $16,000 and 450 service hours.

If you’re going to be out of town that day, or if you’d like to go ahead and donate now, you can do that online. It’s safe, secure, and simple. Just visit www.fellowshipconway.org/give.

God has given us the greatest mission ever and we’re blessed to be able to join Him in reaching our community and world for Christ and advancing the Gospel!
